Home-Based Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Part-Time | $20/HR

Abound Health is seeking a compassionate, dependable Home-Based Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support an adult with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in their home and community. This individual enjoys independence, positive attention, and meaningful engagement throughout the day. About the Role

As a DSP, you will provide one-on-one support that helps the individual live safely, independently, and with dignity. The person supported is nearly blind, has a seizure diagnosis (with no recent seizures), and benefits from patient, encouraging guidance. They enjoy doing tasks independently but will ask for help when needed. Behavioral challenges have significantly decreased over the past year, and they respond well to positive reinforcement. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys calm, structured daytime work and meaningful relationship-based support.

Key Responsibilities

• Support behavioral, social, and daily-living skill development
• Assist with recreational and community activities such as van rides, shopping, movies, and local outings
• Follow treatment plans and document progress
• Provide companionship and respite care
• Submit documentation and payroll on time
• Participate in ongoing training
• Assist with personal care needs as required
• Work independently in home and community settings

What We’re Looking For

• Genuine interest in supporting individuals with I/DD
• Ability to work independently and responsibly
• Valid driver’s license and active car insurance
• Comfortable supporting individuals with varying personal-care and behavioral-support needs
• At least 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to pass background checks
• Physical ability to assist with lifting or transfers if needed

Compensation

• $20 per hour
• Weekly pay
• Paid training

Schedule

We currently have a client in the Mt. Pocono / Pocono Summit area needing support during the following hours:

• Monday–Thursday: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Additional flexible hours may become available.

Experience

• 1 year of caregiving experience preferred
• Not required — paid training provided
