Quality Inspector (Turbomachinery Components) | $61,000-$70,000/yr

Overview:

PWR Staffing is seeking a Quality Inspector to join our client. You will be responsible for inspecting machined turbomachinery components and assemblies to ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards. This role supports the Quality Management System (QMS) by documenting inspection results, managing nonconformance reports, and driving corrective actions to maintain product integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional and layout inspections on machined parts and assemblies
• Generate and maintain nonconformance reports and ensure proper disposition of discrepant materials
• Prepare detailed inspection reports with minimal supervision
• Utilize inspection tools such as CMM, Faro Arm, and optical comparator
• Review supplier inspection reports and material certifications
• Conduct source inspections at supplier facilities (limited travel)
• Maintain calibration records for inspection tools and equipment
• Interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications
• Perform trigonometric and geometric calculations as needed
• Support continuous improvement and quality initiatives
• Mentor junior inspectors (Quality Inspector I)

Requirements

• 2–5 years of Quality Inspection experience in a manufacturing environment required
• Strong experience with dimensional inspection and precision measurement tools
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and Quality Management Systems preferred
• Familiarity with machining processes and non-destructive testing methods
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Military or Navy background (aircraft mechanic or similar)
• Experience working with tight tolerances and machined components

Physical & Additional Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
• Ability to handle various metals (aluminum, steel, etc.)
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Travel up to 5%
• Must pass background check and drug screening
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
