Senior Vocational Truck Upfitting Technician (Level III)

We reward mastery. Step into a Level III role where your hands turn bare chassis into purpose-built trucks. Reporting to the Shop Supervisor, you’ll take on advanced installations, guide newer mechanics, and keep our shop humming with safe, precise execution.

Sign-on highlight: $2,250 sign-on bonus for qualified hires at Levels II–IV.

A Day in the Bay

You kick off with a quick plan-of-attack meeting, review drawings and work orders, and stage your tools. By mid-morning, you’re mounting a dump body, aligning frame mounts, and securing hardware to spec. After lunch, you route hydraulic lines, wire complex controls, and outfit a utility body with hitches, shelving, ladder racks, and other commercial accessories. Throughout the day, you coach a junior tech on best practices, all while keeping the bay clean and PPE on point.

What You’ll Tackle

• Install and mount service utility bodies, stake bodies, and dump bodies with expert precision.
• Outfit vehicles with hitches, interior shelving, ladder racks, and related commercial upfit components.
• Execute advanced electrical wiring and hydraulic system setups from plans and schematics.
• Mentor and train junior mechanics; set the tone for quality and safety.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and adhere to PPE and safety standards at all times.

What You Bring

• 2+ years of welding experience on both steel and aluminum.
• 2+ years of electrical wiring experience, including the capability to create and interpret schematics.
• Independent troubleshooting ability and sound mechanical judgment.
• Proficiency with power hand tools and ownership of a solid basic toolset.
• Experience with complex hydraulic systems strongly preferred.
