Accountant I
Description
What you will do:
This role performs routine accounting functions along with financial and expense management reporting duties within the finance department.
• Work within expense management system (Concur) to ensure timeliness of completed expense reports, proper coding of T&E expense, and run & analyze monthly expense management reports.
• Supports month-end close via reconciliations, posting of entries, and review of records to ensure proper and timely posting.
• Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliation according to company standards.
• Provide outside auditors with assistance; gather necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
• Support improving accounting processes through simplification and automation.
• Partner with external partners and functional teams as appropriate.
• Reviews and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of generally acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
• Stay up to date on industry and job-related trends and best practices, including reading relevant publications, articles, blogs, etc.
• Provide backup to key Finance areas AR, AP & Accounting, providing coverage due to illness, PTO or unusually high demand.
• Support Management with ad hoc reports.
Requirements
Education:
College Degree preferred and/or equivalent job experience.
Area of Study: Accounting or Finance.
Experience (yrs): 0-2 years of prior Accounting and/or Finance experience required.

• Ability to Travel on Airplane, Train and/or Car as needed.
