What You'll Do as Senior Accountant:

  • Oversee Daily Accounting: Record and reconcile weekly transactions across multiple entities in QuickBooks Desktop, maintaining accuracy and organization.
  • Manage Payables & Receivables: Process vendor invoices, subcontractor payments, and customer billing—including AIA billing, progress draws, and retainage documentation—for multiple divisions.
  • Track Job Costs: Allocate labor, materials, and subcontractor expenses across divisions while helping refine and implement new job-cost tracking in QuickBooks.
  • Prepare & Reconcile: Complete journal entries, accruals, fixed-asset schedules, and monthly bank, credit card, and loan reconciliations.
  • Deliver Financial Accuracy & Insight: Support management with financial statements, WIP reports, budgets, forecasts, KPI tracking, audits, tax filings, payroll, and year-end close while maintaining strong internal controls.
  • Collaborate with Leadership: Partner with the CEO, project managers, bookkeeper, and CPA firm to ensure clarity, accuracy, and continuous improvement in all financial processes.
  • Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM, with a 30-minute lunch break.

 

Our Ideal Senior Accountant:

  • Experienced: 5-7 years of accounting experience and a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field are required. Previous experience in construction accounting is also required. Strong knowledge of AIA billing, WIP reporting, and job cost accounting required.
  • Analytical Thinker: Combines precision and attention to detail with the ability to interpret financial data and provide clear, actionable insights.
  • Collaborative: Works closely with leadership, project managers, and the accounting team to ensure seamless communication and consistent results.
  • Flexible & Dependable: Adapts to changing priorities, manages time effectively, and supports a positive, family-oriented work environment.
  • Growth-minded: Brings initiative and curiosity to a fast-growing company with opportunities to expand into leadership as the business evolves.
  • Tech-savvy: Proficient in QuickBooks Desktop, Teams, and Excel; experience with HCCS or AI accounting tools is a plus.
