Travel RN Job Details – Ottumwa, IA

• Location: Ottumwa, IA 52501 – Explore Southeast Iowa's scenic parks, friendly neighborhoods, and vibrant small-town culture.
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1800 - $1840
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)
• Unit: Medical/Surgical Telemetry (Med/Surg Tele)
• Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (12-hour day shifts)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week (indicate preference when applying)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 8/25/2025 – End: 11/24/2025)
• Patient Population: Adult patients; support from CNAs and LPNs
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Electronic Health Record: MediTech EHR

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa or compact state (required)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience
• BLS certification (required); ACLS certification (preferred)
• Mandatory reporter certification (Child and Adult) required
• Ability to pass comprehensive background checks (Iowa SING BG, criminal, and child abuse)
• Recent titers (within the last 12 months)
• 10-panel drug screening (including opiates)
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred but not required
• Willingness to float to healthcare facilities within a 25-mile radius as needed

Travel RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Monitor, interpret, and respond to telemetry readings and changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop individualized care plans
• Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in MediTech EHR
• Educate and support patients and their families throughout the care process
• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive clinical environment
• Float to other nursing units within a 25-mile radius as required
