Capperini Restaurant is seeking an experienced, passionate, and creative Executive Chef to lead the culinary vision for our exciting new Italian/Mediterranean restaurant and event venue opening in November 2026 in the heart of Glenside.

Our two-story concept will feature a 140-seat full-service restaurant on the first floor and an elegant 200-person private event venue on the second floor, hosting weddings, corporate events, private celebrations, and community gatherings. This is a rare opportunity to build a culinary program from the ground up and be part of a restaurant that is committed to exceptional food, outstanding hospitality, and memorable guest experiences.

Position Summary

The Executive Chef will oversee all culinary operations for both the restaurant and banquet/event venue. This individual will be responsible for menu development, kitchen leadership, food quality, staffing, purchasing, cost control, and ensuring an exceptional dining experience for every guest.

Working closely with ownership and the General Manager, the Executive Chef will establish kitchen standards, recruit and develop the culinary team, and create systems that support long-term success.

Responsibilities

• Lead all kitchen operations for the restaurant and private event venue.
• Develop seasonal menus, banquet menus, and daily specials.
• Recruit, hire, train, and mentor sous chefs, line cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers.
• Maintain the highest standards of food quality, consistency, presentation, and sanitation.
• Manage food and labor costs while maintaining profitability.
• Oversee purchasing, inventory, vendor relationships, and product quality.
• Create efficient kitchen systems and standard operating procedures.
• Collaborate with the events team to execute weddings, corporate functions, and private events serving up to 200 guests.
• Ensure compliance with all health department regulations and food safety standards.
• Foster a positive, professional, and collaborative kitchen culture.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership and team development skills.
• Strong knowledge of menu engineering, food costing, inventory management, and purchasing.
• Ability to lead a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining exceptional quality.
• Experience opening a new restaurant is a significant advantage.
