Senior Java Backend Developer

Position Description

CGI is looking for an experienced Senior Java Backend Developer to join our team.

This role will require someone in Cleveland, OH, Pittsburgh, PA, or Dallas, TX

The ideal candidate should be passionate about coding and developing scalable and high-performance applications. You will work closely with our architects and other members of the team to deliver quality solutions that meet the needs of our clients.

Your future duties and responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Java-based applications.
• Develop and implement efficient algorithms and data structures
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
• Identify and troubleshoot software defects and issues
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
• Participate in code reviews and ensure code quality and standards are met
• Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in software development

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role

• 6+ years in Java, spring boot and microservices. Kafka expertise is a plus.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL (specifically Mongo)
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
• Ability to troubleshoot issues independently
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Good-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is 57,100 - $154,300.
