ENCORE - Human Resources Operations Senior Analyst - Absence & Leave - Remote
This is an ENCORE position. You must be a retired former Cigna employee to be eligible for this role. This is a part time role.
We are looking for a Human Resources Operations Senior Analyst - Absence & Leave who brings deep expertise, curiosity, and care to the way we support employees through time away from work. In this role, you'll serve as a trusted subject matter expert, ensuring accurate, compliant, and employee-centered absence and leave programs while continuously improving how our systems and processes work together. You'll partner across the organization and with external vendors to deliver reliable outcomes and a positive employee experience.
Responsibilities

Ensure accurate configuration, eligibility rules, and balances for PTO, leaves of absence, disability, and other time away programs.

Resolve complex and escalated absence and leave issues, applying strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to deliver timely, high-quality outcomes.

Maintain and enhance Workday time and absence configurations, integrations, and calculations, with attention to downstream impacts.

Partner with external vendors and internal teams to resolve defects, support implementations, and execute user acceptance testing.

Identify trends, risks, and recurring issues, recommending improvements that strengthen compliance, system reliability, and the employee experience.

Support annual processes such as accrual adjustments, balance audits, and program rollovers.

Interpret federal, state, and local leave regulations and translate requirements into system and process updates.

Collaborate with Employee Relations, Legal, Payroll, Compensation, and Benefits partners on complex cases and policy interpretation.

Develop clear job aids, documentation, and testing materials that enable consistent and accurate execution across teams.
Qualifications
Required
-
5 or more years of experience supporting absence and leave programs in a large, complex organization.

Hands-on experience with Workday Absence, including configuration, eligibility logic, and troubleshooting.

Strong working knowledge of federal and state leave laws, including FMLA and state paid leave programs.

Proven ability to analyze sensitive data, manage competing priorities, and deliver accurate results in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.

Experience working with outsourced HR or vendor-managed service models.

Advanced proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
