Single Ply Roofing Quality Assurance Inspector(2 Plus Years Roofing Experience Required)
Plan and schedule work in accordance with Flex Technical Service Guidelines a) Including arranging and conducting travel to project locations
Continuous contact with approved applicators with upcoming projects or jobs in-progress to ensure proper coordination and completion of all aspects of project. Conduct all necessary project inspections. Start up, In-progress, and final warranty inspections.
Provide training to contractors in the proper use and installation of Flex products and roofing systems.
Plan and coordinate all aspects of the inspection trips. a) Coordinate the inspection with the approved applicator b) Make all travel plans. (airplane tickets, rental car, lodging, etc.) c) Travel (50 % overnight travel)
Conduct final inspections of Flex roofing system installations to ensure technical and warrantable acceptance in accordance with current Flex specifications and details.
Process and Investigate warranty leak claim issues as assigned. a) Process all material complaint calls or warranty claims and record all data to the complaint log or project file. b) Required to perform warranty repairs upon request and direction of Flex's warranty department.
Review Technical Plans and Specifications and provide technical assistance to Flex Sales Representatives in the assigned area in support of their respective sales needs.
Report directly to the Technical Services Manager. Maintain weekly communication with the Technical Services Manager or Support Staff to ensure coordination of relevant information.
Operate within established company expense and vehicle policies. Follow company safety policies.
Other duties as assigned which may include travel and work outside the normal territory. Qualifications The following requirements are representative of the skills, knowledge and ability required perform in this position. It is essential that an individual be able to perform each duty satisfactorily.
Bilingual English Spanish is a plus.
Knowledge of general construction and roofing systems with an emphasis on roofing technical knowledge in the installation and repair of low slope thermoplastic single ply systems.
Must be able to read and understand basic construction blueprints, drawings, and specifications as well as to be able to create a material list.
Computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office. Must be able to express oneself verbally and in writing, including comprehensive report writing.
Become familiar with building code requirements related to roof system installations. (ie. Factory Mutual Roof Nav, Underwriters Laboratories etc.)
Must be experienced and proficient in the use of hot air welding equipment used in the installation of thermoplastic single ply roof membranes.
Will be required to perform product demonstration and hands on application or installation training to groups.
Knowledge of construction site and roof top safety practices and OSHA regulations. Background Experience and Education
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) Associates Degree or Higher is a plus.
2 -5 years of roofing experience or of roof installation inspections.
IIBEC Registered Roof Observer is a plus.
Excellent Driving Record
Basic PC skills. MS Word, Excel, Adobe, email, internet Physical Requirements
Must be able to drive a vehicle and travel unassisted, such as air travel.
Ability to work in outdoor conditions including high/low temperatures, dust, humidity etc.
Able to wear and work in Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
Able to communicate clearly and concisely in English
Requires working with heights. Climbing ladders, scaffolding, stairs etc.
