Position Overview
Emerald Energy NJ is seeking driven and professional In-Home Solar Sales Consultants (Closers) to run company-provided appointments and help homeowners evaluate the benefits of solar energy.
This is a 1099 Independent Contractor opportunity designed for entrepreneurial sales professionals who want to take control of their income through performance and production. Compensation is 100% commission-based with no base salary, hourly pay, or guaranteed income.
This is a consultative sales role focused on:
Meeting with homeowners face-to-face
Conducting professional solar consultations
Presenting customized solar proposals
Building trust and credibility
Closing solar agreements
You will work directly with qualified homeowners who have expressed interest in learning more about solar and energy savings opportunities.
This role is ideal for experienced closers who enjoy relationship-based selling and are motivated by uncapped earning potential. Your earnings are directly tied to your personal production and overall performance.
What You'll Do
In-Home Consultations
Meet with homeowners at scheduled appointments
Evaluate customer needs and energy goals
Educate homeowners on solar energy benefits and available programs
Deliver professional and engaging presentations
Answer questions and address concerns confidently
Sales & Closing
Present customized solar solutions
Guide homeowners through financing and ownership options
Overcome objections with professionalism and integrity
Close sales and achieve production goals
Maintain accurate sales documentation and customer records
Customer Experience
Build trust and rapport with homeowners
Serve as a knowledgeable resource throughout the sales process
Ensure customers feel informed and confident in their decisions
Represent Emerald Energy NJ professionally at all times
Continuous Development
Participate in ongoing sales and product training
Stay informed on solar industry trends and incentives
Continuously improve presentation and closing skills

Solar experience is preferred; however, top-performing sales professionals from related industries are encouraged to apply.
Additional Requirements
Reliable transportation required
Ability to travel throughout assigned territories
Comfortable working in a field-based environment
Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet homeowner schedules
