Day to day as a Pre-K Counts Lead TeacherAs a Pre-K Counts Teacher at YMCA of Reading & Berks County, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for our young learners. As a certified teacher at Instructional Level I, you will have the opportunity to create developmentally appropriate preschool programs that meet all the necessary legislative requirements and adhere to Pennsylvania's guidelines. Your dedication to maintaining program quality, as outlined by ECERS/ITERS, Early Learning Resource Centers, Pennsylvania Key guidelines, and YMCA program policies, will ensure that children receive the best possible education and care. Above all, your commitment to the safety, well-being, and age-appropriate instruction of each child will create an engaging and enriching experience for them. What matters mostTo excel in the role of a Pre-K Counts Teacher at YMCA of Reading & Berks County, you will need to possess a variety of essential skills and qualifications. A bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education is a prerequisite, demonstrating your foundational knowledge in the field. Additionally, you must be certified as an Instructional Level 1 teacher by the State of Pennsylvania, reflecting your expertise and dedication to the profession. In order to prioritize the safety and well-being of the children, it is essential to acquire and maintain CPR and First Aid Certification.
This ensures that you can respond effectively in emergencies. As the early childhood education field is constantly evolving, ongoing training is necessary to stay updated with the latest practices and regulations. The specific training requirements will depend on Keystone Stars and ELRC designation. By possessing these skills and qualifications, you will be well-equipped to create a stimulating and educational environment for our young learners.
