Sales Designer and Estimator

Responsibilities
- Develop accurate equipment layout drawings using AutoCAD to support sales proposals and project requirements.
- Research and analyze project-specific information to determine process requirements and develop system concepts that meet customer specifications.
- Perform ware and part turn studies to ensure optimal equipment design and layout.
- Revise and update existing sales layouts as needed to reflect changes in project scope or customer needs.
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates in accordance with pricing guidelines, proposal procedures, and design standards.
- Present project concepts to internal teams, highlighting any non-standard or unique estimating aspects.
- Develop and maintain estimating cost factors based on historical job costs, vendor pricing, and material cost projections; review and update these factors quarterly or as needed.
- Create and manage a pool of quotations for outsourced equipment and services.
- Monitor and improve estimating procedures and standards to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Participate in project meetings, including quote reviews, kick-offs, updates, and project closeouts, providing valuable input and support to the sales team.
- Collaborate with internal departments such as Sales, Engineering, Accounting, Project Management, Manufacturing, Field Services, and Service, as well as external customers and suppliers.
- Provide sales support as required to help secure new business and maintain customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field, or an Associate’s Degree with five years of relevant experience.
- Training or coursework in AutoCAD, drafting, and Microsoft Excel.
- Thorough knowledge of paint finishing systems design and processes preferred.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude.
- Adaptable, imaginative, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
