Job Summary

The Communication Studies Program at Gettysburg College invites applications for a three-year, renewable Lecturer position, to begin August 2026. The position is designed to contribute to the College's new Communication Studies major and minor. We seek an experienced, innovative instructor who is committed to undergraduate teaching and mentorship. Professional experience in areas of communication and media is desirable. The successful candidate will teach courses at all undergraduate levels and will assist with program coordination and development.

Teaching responsibilities include the equivalent of six courses per year, developing experiential learning activities for students, and advising students. Administrative duties include managing the program's internship students, and participating in governance of the Communication Studies Program and the College: tionstudies/curriculum/

Gettysburg College is a highly selective liberal arts college located within 90 minutes of the Baltimore/Washington metropolitan area. Established in 1832, the College has a rich history and is situated on a 220-acre campus with an enrollment of over 2,200 students.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position embraces the overall mission of Gettysburg College, with a focused commitment to excellence in teaching and student success through the discipline of Communication Studies. A PhD in Communication Studies is strongly preferred; however, a master's degree may be considered. Area of specialization is open.
