We are seeking a full-time Loan Processor/Closer to join our team and work on-site at our Operations Center in Bloomsburg, PA. As part of the Loan Processing Department, this position reports to the AVP, Loan Processing Manager.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Stays current with all loan products and the documents specific to the products.
- Verifies all loans have the proper approvals and meet bank policy guidelines.
- Works closely with Originators and Underwriters in all aspects of the loan process.
- Works closely with attorneys, title agents, and abstract companies to prepare closing documents and schedule closings.
- Order, process and review appraisals.
- Prepares memos, forms, tables, and reports using Word, Excel, and specialized departmental software as appropriate.
- Prepares mortgage files to go to underwriting.
- Assembles files and sends to PHFA; follows up on any missing documentation with PHFA.
- Contacts loan customers and insurance companies to request information.
- Prepares loan documents, reviews documents for accuracy, and onboards loans
- Provides information and assists in the preparation of various loan reports, HMDA reporting, etc.
- Verifies completion of all loans being closed.
- Reviews and updates secondary market automated underwriting reports.
Requirements: The selected candidate must have the following skills:
- A minimum of high school diploma or equivalent with a preference for advanced degree and/or specialized training in a business or financial field.
- Two (2) years' experience in related position preferred with working knowledge of bank operating policies and procedures that impact consumer and mortgage loan document services.
- Proficient reading, writing and grammar skills; proficient math and PC skills including Microsoft Word and Excel; Moderate interpersonal and communication skills; Must have ability to learn loan documentation requirements and bank operating policies and procedures that impact the department; limited knowledge of lending policies and procedures. Must have proficient follow through and excellent phone skills.
- Cooperates with, participates in, and promotes the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety, soundness, and compliance with all regulatory requirements. This includes annual Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) training and complying with all BSA rules and regulations as the pertain to the job position within the Bank.
- Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the department as well as with other departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.
Hours: Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours per week, flexible to work additional hours as needed.
