Job Description
The Joint Venture Project Accountant manages the full-cycle billing process for complex joint venture projects, ensuring accurate, timely invoicing in strict accordance with contract terms. This role partners closely with project managers and joint venture stakeholders to compile labor, expense, and subcontractor data, allocate costs across entities, and maintain detailed billing schedules and reconciliations. The position is fully remote and offers the opportunity to support large engineering or architecture projects within a sophisticated, large-scale ERP environment.
Responsibilities

Manage full-cycle project billing for joint venture projects from initial setup through final invoice.

Review and interpret joint venture contracts to ensure billing aligns with contractual terms and conditions.

Compile, validate, and reconcile labor, expense, and subcontractor data for inclusion in project invoices.

Allocate costs accurately across joint venture entities in accordance with agreed-upon allocation methodologies.

Prepare, maintain, and update detailed billing schedules and reconciliations for assigned projects.

Collaborate closely with project managers and joint venture stakeholders to resolve billing issues and clarify project financial details.

Ensure all invoices are accurate, complete, and submitted on time to meet client and joint venture requirements.

Utilize large-scale ERP systems to process billings, maintain project financial records, and generate reports.

Use Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions, to analyze project billing data and support reconciliations.

Monitor project billing status, identify discrepancies or variances, and take corrective action as needed.

Support internal and external inquiries related to joint venture billing and project financials.

Contribute to process improvements in project billing and joint venture accounting workflows.
Essential Skills

5+ years of project billing experience specifically supporting joint venture projects.

Proven experience working for an engineering or architecture company with revenue over $100 million.

Strong joint venture accounting and billing knowledge, including cost allocation across entities.

Demonstrated ability to review and interpret contracts for billing requirements and compliance.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create and use pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions.

Proficiency with large-scale ERP systems such as Deltek, SAGE, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.

High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and completeness in billing and reconciliations.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills applied to project financial data.

Effective communication skills to collaborate with project managers and joint venture stakeholders.

Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple billing deadlines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint or similar Deltek products is a plus.

Experience in project billing within complex, multi-entity or joint venture structures.

Familiarity with the engineering and architecture project lifecycle and related financial processes.

Ability to identify and recommend process improvements in billing and ERP utilization.

Comfort working with large data sets and multiple systems to reconcile project financials.
Work Environment
This role is 100% remote and can be performed from any time zone, offering flexibility in location while maintaining alignment with project and team needs. You will work within a large-scale ERP environment, such as Deltek, SAGE, SAP, or Oracle, and rely heavily on Excel for data analysis and reporting. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $38.50/hr.
