Full Charge Bookkeeper

A premier custom home building and residential development firm is seeking a high-caliber Full Charge Bookkeeper to manage the organization's fiscal operations. This role is designed for a meticulous accounting professional who possesses the technical mastery to lead the complete financial cycle-from day-to-day transaction entry to the preparation of sophisticated, board-ready financial statements.

responsibilities:
- Orchestrate the end-to-end bookkeeping process, ensuring the precision, accuracy, and timeliness of all financial data and general ledger maintenance.
- Execute full-cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, optimizing liquidity through diligent monitoring of project-based billing and vendor relations.
- Perform complex bank and account reconciliations within QuickBooks Desktop, ensuring accounting data remains evergreen and audit-ready.
- Synthesize raw data into actionable insights by producing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial packages, including P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analysis.
- Administer bi-weekly payroll with exacting detail while ensuring steadfast adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.
- Monitor inventory metrics and internal controls to safeguard company assets and enhance operational efficiency within a project-based environment.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external tax professionals, providing streamlined documentation and well-maintained books for year-end filings.
qualifications:
Qualifications & Requirements
- The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance, though we also highly value candidates with equivalent real-world experience and a strong background in bookkeeping.
- A minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a small-to-mid-size company.
- Direct experience within Construction, Real Estate, or Custom Home Building is a significant advantage (Job Costing experience is a plus).
- Advanced command of QuickBooks Desktop is highly preferred, complemented by high-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- An unwavering commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive financial information with the utmost integrity.
- Exceptional verbal and written abilities, with the professional presence to interface with high-level stakeholders and external auditors.
