Host/Hostess
The Restaurant Host/Hostess is the first person and last person our guests come in contact with, your primary objective is to make our guests feel welcome as they enter our restaurant and appreciated as they leave. He or she coordinates the seating flow of the dining room staff to ensure fast and courteous service to our guests. He or she schedules dining room reservations, arranges parties or special events, and arranges special services for diners. He or she is responsible for answering telephones and taking/relaying detailed messages. he or she aides or assists servers when needed by helping to clear tables. The Host/Hostess is responsible for maintaining a clean and well stocked host area, opening doors for guests both entering and exiting the building, saying "Hello or Welcome" to guests entering the building, saying "Thank You" to guests exiting the building, and ensuring both the lobby area and restrooms are kept "Guest Clean". The ideal candidate for this position has a high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma and at least one year of experience in a restaurant setting. The ideal candidate for this position must display an upbeat, friendly, outgoing personality. A smile is part of your uniform for this position. Fluent English speaking and written communication skills, good time management skills, and professional dress, speech, and behavior are all required for this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages guest reservations and greets and seats guests on arrival Inspects dining and serving areas to ensure cleanliness and proper setup Smiles when speaking to guest with sincerity, genuine concern and respect Opens the doors for guests entering and exiting the restaurant. Manages supplies and ensures orderly work areas Primary responsibility is to make our guests feel welcome as they enter our restaurant and appreciated as they leave. Maintains Lobby and Guest restroom cleanliness throughout the shift Answers the telephone taking detailed messages when necessary Primary responsibility of the host/hostess is to open the door for out guests as they enter and exit our restaurantQUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or high school equivalency diploma required; some post high school education or training preferred One year of relevant experience is preferred but not necessary Point-of-sale (cash register) and credit or debit card processing skills Excellent communication skills, verbal and written Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed Able to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays Willing to work longer shifts as well as shorter shifts Must be personable, friendly and out-goingBENEFITS
Employee hourly incentive bonus of $1 per hour for coming to work on time. Full time hours begin @30 hours earning Paid Time Off from day 1.
