School Social Worker [81366] (Fayette County)

We’re partnering with an excellent school district in Fayette County, PA to hire a dedicated School Social Worker for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year.

In this role, you will help remove barriers to learning by providing students and families with social-emotional support, crisis intervention, and access to community resources. This role strengthens the school-home connection and promotes a safe, supportive learning environment.

Position Details:

• Location: In Person in Fayette County, PA (no hybrid or remote options available)
• Start Date: February 2025
• End Date: June 2026
• Schedule: 30 hours per week
• Grade Levels: Elementary School, K-5
• School Year: 2025/2026

Responsibilities:

• Provide social-emotional support and counseling to students individually and in small groups
• Conduct assessments to identify student needs and develop appropriate interventions
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support academic and behavioral success
• Assist in crisis intervention and provide immediate support to students in distress
• Develop and implement behavior intervention plans when appropriate
• Coordinate with community agencies to connect families with external services
• Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary teams, and student support planning
• Maintain accurate documentation, case notes, and required reporting
• Promote positive school climate and support initiatives that foster student well-being

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW)
• Valid Pennsylvania school social work certification or eligibility (as required by district)
• Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred
• Strong knowledge of social-emotional development, trauma-informed practices, and behavioral interventions
• Ability to collaborate effectively with school teams, families, and community resources
• Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills
• Commitment to supporting diverse learners, including students with disabilities or behavioral needs
