NOVA (Network of Victim Assistance) is a comprehensive victim services organization in Bucks County. With a 50+ year history, NOVA has expanded to include a continuum of prevention and direct services to prevent and address the needs of victims of sexual abuse and other serious crimes. NOVA is known for its exceptional services and professionalism across many disciplines and the community. POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Prevention Education is responsible for the strategic development, implementation, and evaluation of NOVA’s comprehensive prevention education and training programs, and special local and statewide projects. This role ensures all educational initiatives are trauma-informed, victim sensitive, evidence-based /evidence-informed, aligned with organizational goals and standards, and meet the requirements of relevant funders. This role is responsible for managing departmental budgets, grant-writing, and grant management, and involves fostering community partnerships and leading a team of prevention education coordinators, part-time educators and department administrative assistant.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Agency Outreach
- Build and maintain relationships with Bucks County schools, government agencies, and non-profits to expand program reach.
- Further NOVA's ability to promote a unified prevention network.
- Represent NOVA effectively in the greater community; serves as liaison with relevant organizations, participates in media and public events as the Executive Director assigns.
- Act as the department's primary spokesperson at conferences, board meetings, and community forums.
- Advocate for victims as appropriate.
Program Administration
- Supervise implementation of all Prevention, Education and Training (PET) programs to meet agency standards of excellence.
- Ensure all PET programs align with NOVA’s mission.
- Identify specific risks or knowledge gaps within the target population.
- Ensure program design and development of long-term prevention curricula is based on current research, data, and sociological trends.
- Develop, implement, monitor prevention department procedures for program delivery (e.g., outreach, marketing, program assignment, staff training, outcome measures/evaluation/feedback, data collection, etc.).
- Ensure PET Policies and Procedures align with NOVA requirements.
- Develop annual and long-term work plans for PET department.
- Monitor and ensure PET staff individual annual work plans achieve set goals.
- Manage and monitor budgets for assigned programs.
- Monitor PET programs to maximize resource efficiency.
- Oversee the identification of funding opportunities for PET.
- Lead the writing of grant proposals to sustain and grow initiatives.
- Manage relevant contracts and grants to ensure program and financial requirements are met.
- Generate program-based earned revenues for department sustainability. Recruit, hire, train, evaluate, support, and terminate staff as necessary and in accordance with NOVA policies.
- Provide effective staff for all assigned programs including selection, orientation, performance monitoring, evaluation, and provid e for continuing staff development and training. Staff may include volunteers, student interns, and professional staff.
- Supervise prevention coordinators, providing regular check-ins, performance feedback, and professional mentorship.
- Foster a collaborative work environment that prioritizes empathy, inclusivity, and cultural competency.
AGENCY REQUIREMENTS

- Participate in developing work plans at all appropriate levels (as required by position) and use plans to monitor outcomes and promote change.
- Meeting attendance required: staff meetings, department meetings, leadership level meetings, board meetings, etc.
- Attend and actively participate in at least one agency-organized event annually.
- Driving/Travel – Ability to travel county-wide as position may require, to agency-wide events, and staff meetings, and maintain (or secure) reliable transportation.
- Helpline/Hospital Coverage as needed.
- May be required to work various hours including some weekends and evenings.
STAFF DEVELOPMENT
- Successful completion of the Sexual Assault Counselor Training (SAC), annual training requirements, and continuing education requirements as applicable. Participate in job-related professional development activities .
- Stay current on issues of interpersonal violence, sexual abuse, assault, and other relevant topics; integrate new material into programming and training as appropriate.
- Annual attendance of NOVA’s Staff Retreat (1 day). Attend and actively participate in a staff or agency committee.
- Meet regularly with the Executive Director for support, direction, supervision, and feedback.
- Meet regularly with assigned staff; provide feedback and complete required evaluations and work plans

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
- Master’s degree in Education, Social Work, Public Health or a related field.
- Five or more years in relevant experience including at least two in administrative or supervisory capacity.
- Curriculum development experience.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong grasp of the evolving social media landscape, non-profit communications, and social marketing.
- Proficiency in program evaluation and using data for strategic decision-making and actionable community insights.
- NOVA may require employees to participate in drug testing.
- Proficiency with Office 365.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
- Must meet all required background checks (criminal, FBI, child abuse) at hire and every five years after that
- Must provide proof of a valid driver's license
- Must provide proof of valid car insurance with a minimum liability coverage of $100,000/$300,000 upon hire and biannually after that
NOVA is an AA/EOE. The compensation package includes the following components:
- Competitive Annual Salary, $74,000-$79,000 commensurate with experience.
- Medical & Dental (1st day of the month following hire; Employee premiums paid in full by NOVA)
- Short-term & long-term disability (After 90 days of employment; Premiums paid in full by NOVA)
- Life insurance policy (After 90 days of employment; Premium paid in full by NOVA)
- Quarterly contribution to Profit Sharing Pension Plan (1st quarter following one year of employment. Continued contributions are reviewed quarterly
- Voluntary contribution to 401K Plan (1st quarter following one year of employment)
- Generous Paid-Time-Off policy (after 90 days of employment) and 12 paid holidays per year
