About the Position
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our team. This role will primarily focus on day-to-day accounting functions including; accounts payable, cash reconciliation, and GL accounting journal entries and adjustments; as well as HR-related responsibilities such as payroll, new employee onboarding, and benefits administration.
Key Responsibilities
· Processing weekly payroll including accounting transactions and reconciliation
· Processing AP payments and processing checks weekly
· Reconciles cash balances daily
· Process and match daily bank and credit card downloads into Quickbooks
· Prepares GL adjustments and journal entries as needed
· Works with VP-Finance to prepare month-end financial reports
· Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with HR policies & procedures
· Enters all new hires and employee changes in payroll system
· Support hiring process and conduct new hire orientation/process paperwork
· Conduct open enrollment and perform tasks related to benefits administration
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Business / Accounting ( Preferred )
- 3-5 years of accounting experience
- Proficient in Quickbooks ( Required )
- Experience in payroll processing ( Preferred )
- Proficient in MS Office suite; especially Excel
- Experience with HR responsibilities as noted ( Preferred )
- Must be able to work independently, display excellent verbal and written communication skills, and prioritize effectively
