This position is Part Time. M - F 4:00pm - 8:00pm.
Location: CHOP - King of Prussia
The Floor Technician is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of floors in various facilities. This includes tasks such as shampooing rugs, cleaning carpets, scrubbing and polishing tiles, and buffing floors to ensure a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing environment. The Floor Technician works independently or as part of a team, utilizing specialized equipment and cleaning solutions to achieve optimal results.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Carpet and Rug Cleaning:**
- Shampoo and clean rugs and carpets using appropriate cleaning solutions and equipment.
- Remove stains, dirt, and debris from carpets and rugs.
- Ensure carpets and rugs are dried properly to prevent mold and mildew growth.
2. **Tile and Grout Cleaning:**
- Scrub and clean tile surfaces and grout lines.
- Apply sealants and protective coatings to tiles as needed.
- Maintain the cleanliness and shine of tile floors.
3. **Floor Buffing and Polishing:**
- Buff and polish various types of floors, including hardwood, vinyl, and linoleum.
- Use floor buffing machines and polishers to achieve a high-gloss finish.
- Apply wax and other protective coatings to floors.
4. **General Floor Maintenance:**
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors regularly to maintain cleanliness.
- Identify and report any damages or necessary repairs to flooring.
- Follow proper safety protocols and procedures when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.
5. **Equipment Maintenance:**
- Maintain and clean all floor care equipment after use.
- Perform routine checks and minor repairs on equipment to ensure functionality.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or needs for replacement to the supervisor.
**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in floor care and maintenance preferred.
- Knowledge of different floor types and appropriate cleaning methods.
- Ability to operate floor care equipment such as shampooers, buffers, and polishers.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards of cleanliness.
- Physical ability to perform strenuous tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and standing for extended periods.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
**Working Conditions:**
- The Floor Technician may be required to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- The role involves physical labor and exposure to cleaning chemicals.
- Protective gear, such as gloves and masks, may be required to ensure safety.
