Dispatcher/Receptionist
Tredyffrin Township is seeking to fill the position of to support our Police department. The Dispatcher/Receptionist is responsible for greeting and directing visitors; operating central phone console, relaying calls and/or taking messages; maintaining radio communication; data entry of citations, warnings, hearing notices, vacation notices, 9-1-1 hang-ups, lockouts, parking tickets, parking permits, etc.; maintain files for abandoned vehicles, reconcile county incident reports, NCIC/CLEAN files; and assist department clerks and secretaries as needed.
Knowledge and skills include the ability to use basic Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Explorer) and data entry programs; ability to communicate effectively in person and in writing. Must be familiar with use of personal computer workstations, copier/scanner/printer, multi-line telephone system, and calculator.
Qualifications for this position include:
- A high school diploma or GED
- CLEAN/JNET certification or the ability to obtain certification within 6 months of assignment.
- One-year’s general receptionist experience or similar position
- Radio dispatching experience beneficial but not preferred
Tredyffrin seeks candidates with a strong work ethic, positive attitude, excellent customer service skills and desire to learn new skills.
This is a full-time, non-union, non-exempt position, the salary range is $25.00 per hour depending on experience. EOE. Subject to background/drug screens.
