Electrical Engineering Manager - Power
At KLH Engineers, our team of engineers, surveyors, and drafters, works on projects that ensure safe drinking water gets where it needs to go, wastewater is properly treated, and stormwater stays under control. Since 1982, we’ve partnered with numerous municipal clients across Pennsylvania, delivering top-notch services in water, wastewater, stormwater, and general municipal engineering. We bring creativity, technical excellence, and practicality to every project, ensuring our engineering solutions not only work but also make life a little easier for everyone.
We’re currently looking for an Electrical Engineer Manager to join our growing team in our Pittsburgh office. If you enjoy solving complex infrastructure challenges, working on meaningful projects, and collaborating with a team that values technical excellence and practical problem-solving, you’ll fit right in.What You’ll Do:
- Lead the design and development of electrical power distribution and process control systems for municipal and industrial water and wastewater treatment facilities.
- Design and specify systems related to pumps, blowers, variable frequency drives (VFDs), SCADA systems, and process control instrumentation.
- Develop detailed electrical engineering designs, construction documents, and technical specifications for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Conduct field investigations to evaluate existing conditions and gather critical information related to proposed system upgrades and improvements.
- Assist clients with troubleshooting electrical and operational issues within existing treatment and pumping systems.
- Provide startup, commissioning, and operational support for newly installed electrical and control systems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop efficient, reliable, and maintainable solutions for complex infrastructure projects.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, vendors, and internal project teams to ensure projects move forward smoothly and successfully.
- Apply sound engineering judgment to solve technical challenges and support critical infrastructure systems that communities depend on every day.
Who You Are:
- You hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- You have at least 5 years of experience in the detailed design of electrical power distribution and process control systems for municipal and/or industrial water and wastewater treatment facilities.
- You are a P.E.
- You have hands-on experience with pumps, blowers, VFDs, SCADA systems, and process control instrumentation.
- You’re comfortable working both in the office and in the field, whether that means investigating existing systems, troubleshooting operational issues, or supporting system startups.
- You understand how to balance technical precision with practical, real-world application.
- We’ll give you the space to do what you do best—be an Engineer.
- We’re big enough to tackle complex, high-impact projects in-house, but small enough that your ideas won’t get lost in the shuffle.
- You’ll work alongside a smart, collaborative, and genuinely supportive team.
- We offer a flexible work schedule and the ability to work from home when necessary.
- We believe in investing in our people through mentorship, continued learning, and opportunities for growth.
