Security Officer
* Simple Staffing is hiring for this position on behalf of Children's Hospital of Philadelphia *
This role is responsible for ensuring a safe, secure, and child-centered environment for patients, families, visitors, and staff. Security Officers in a pediatric setting provide not only protection, but also compassion and family-focused support.
Key Responsibilities:
Security & Safety Operations
- Maintain a secure environment through entry screening and routine patrols
- Enforce all organizational security and safety policies
- Monitor buildings and surrounding areas, including parking facilities
- Screen individuals entering the facility and verify proper identification
- Ensure all visitors, vendors, and contractors are authorized and properly signed in
- Escort unauthorized individuals from the premises when necessary
Emergency Response & Incident Management:
- Respond promptly to all security calls, service requests, and emergencies
- Act as a first responder during safety incidents and behavioral health events
- Document incidents through detailed reports and daily activity logs
- Participate in emergency preparedness activities and fire brigade response
- Provide support during helicopter landings and other critical operations
Patient & Staff Support:
- Assist clinical teams in managing aggressive or high-risk patients
- Support patient restraint procedures when required
- Provide security escorts for employees, patients, families, and visitors
- Maintain a calm, professional, and compassionate demeanor at all times
Campus & Parking Support
- Patrol parking areas and identify unauthorized or illegally parked vehicles
- Coordinate with supervisors for towing or law enforcement when needed
- Assist with general campus safety and parking operations
