Facilities Manager Description
South College Pittsburgh Campus is seeking a Facilities Manager to join the team. This position is on-site at the Pittsburgh Ground Campus located in Cranberry Township, PA.
Responsibilities:
- Support the daily oversight of campus facilities to ensure that buildings and grounds remain clean, functional, and compliant with basic safety standards.
- Assist with routine inspections and coordinate general maintenance and repair tasks across systems such as HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and fire safety equipment.
- Track and report minor maintenance issues, escalating urgent or complex problems to senior facilities leadership as needed.
- Monitor work orders and follow up with maintenance staff or vendors to ensure timely resolution of requests.
- Collaborate with third-party contractors and service providers for recurring maintenance tasks (e.g., pest control, landscaping, etc.), ensuring work meets expectations and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules, vendor visits, and compliance documentation.
- Help implement and enforce facility usage policies and general safety procedures for staff and visitors.
- Provide on-site coordination during minor renovation, equipment upgrades, or space moves under the direction of senior leadership.
- Serve as a point of contact for basic emergency maintenance issues during operational hours and assist with campus readiness in inclement weather or unexpected situations.
- Recommend low-cost improvements and report facility condition updates to direct supervisors and the Director of Facilities.

- Fast-paced work environment requiring quick adaptation skills in a changing strategic and tactical workplace
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in administrative operations, preferably within a higher education institution.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing cross-functional teams and institutional support services.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems (e.g., Banner, Workday), and document management platforms.
