Research Specialist
The EMBRACE Lab, located in the department of Psychiatry, is focused on understanding the interpersonal basis of severe mental illness, including personality disorders, suicide and aggression. The Friends Study, for which this position is intended for, is specifically focused on studying how qualities of the early childhood friendships may indicate risk for or resilience against the development of personality disorders. We work with children ages 7-9 who are at risk for developing psychopathology based on family history of mental illness. This role will be primarily focused on recruitment, screening and scheduling participants for the study. Secondarily, it will be focused on participant visits (both in person and virtual) and data processing.
This position is grant funded.
Responsibilities:
- Independently execute job functions for research protocol(s) including recruitment, scheduling appointments, obtaining written consent forms, collecting data by conducting phone or face to face interviews for research project(s).
- Collaborate with senior research personnel regarding recruitment, data collection, outcomes of interviews, reports according to the needs of the study.
