THE POSITION Are you someone who is interested in preserving and protecting natural habitats? The Pennsylvania Game Commission is looking for a Wildlife Habitat Group Manager to work in our Northcentral Region. Lead a passionate team where you will plan, develop, and oversee wildlife habitat management projects. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Wildlife Habitat Group Manager, you will plan and oversee habitat projects, game land maintenance, infrastructure construction and maintenance, equipment acquisition and other projects and programs within the habitat management group. This role monitors compliance with the agency's standard operating procedures, work rules, and standards of conduct by all subordinates as well as reviews and approves all reports submitted by the Habitat Management Crew. You will have the opportunity to establish workload priorities and annual work plans for all game lands and leased areas within the group. On occasion, this position investigates work-related accidents or incidents and completes reports from witness statements, overseeing any follow-up recommendations to prevent future occurrences. This position has a focus on leadership skills requiring supervisory functions such as performance reviews, interviews, leave requests and disciplinary actions.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This position is Home Headquartered. You must live within Elk, Potter, Cameron, or Clinton County. QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of professional natural resource management experience; and a bachelor's degree in natural resource management, parks and recreation, biology, forestry, ecology, geosciences, environmental sciences, wildlife management, or a closely related field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

You must possess an active motor vehicle operator's license. You must obtain a Pennsylvania Pesticide Applicator certification within the employee probationary period. You must successfully complete Wildland Type 2 Firefighter (FFT2) training, including successfully completing a Moderate (or Arduous) level Work Capacity Test (WCT) within the employee probationary period.

This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
