Overview:
As a Lead Software Engineer at Agile Defense, you will be joining a team of professionals that secure, scalable data architectures and AI/ML pipelines. This role will support data science and engineering activities, partnering with product teams, data engineers, mission stakeholders, and technologists to unlock the value of structured and unstructured data in support of national defense priorities. You will implement data engineering activities and develop and deploy the pipelines and platforms that organize and make complicated data meaningful.

Responsibilities/Duties:
· Establish engineering best practices and ensure compliance across the entire portfolio. This includes and is not limited to documentation, linting standards, utilization of source code repositories, unit testing, CI/CD pipelines, code peer review, etc.
· Enable development with API technologies including the installation, configuration, operations, and troubleshooting of API products
· Employ MLOps best practices when developing, testing, and maintaining data pipelines
· Enable development with API technologies including the installation, configuration, platform operations, and troubleshooting of API products
· Align and prioritize initiatives with the product roadmap in accordance with the organizations needs and overall operational goal
· Identify data solutions in accordance with agreed organization standards that ensure services are resilient, scalable, and future proof
· Direct best practices for database security, including setting up user accounts and managing access controls
· Support system with database optimization, backup, and recovery procedures.
· Support with data migration and data integration processes
· Troubleshoot database-related issues and providing technical support to development teams
· Improve digital services through rapid prototype and develop solutions on existing infrastructure in a response to emergent requirements
· Document and maintain applicable organization Software Architecture maps and technology roadmaps
· Facilitate the “conception though completion” of large-scale digital products, in conjunction with Product teams that can be composed of Engineering, web applications and UX Design
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
· 2+ years of experience working with Palantir Foundry
· Experience developing enterprise applications with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, and Vue.
· Experience building modern, responsive, and cross-browser-compatible websites using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
· Experience designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise analytic products using business intelligence software applications, such as Qlik, Tableau, etc.
· Expected to possess proficiency in manipulating data for analytical assessments; be proficient with tools and programming languages such as Excel / PowerBI.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
· 8+ years of relevant work experience OR 6+ years of relevant work experience with Masters Degree
· 3+ years of experience with data analytics, data engineering, statistical analysis, or artificial intelligence and machine learning
· 3+ years of experience with common data science languages, including Python and R
· 3+ years of experience retrieving, merging, and analyzing structured and unstructured data sources from APIs and databases, including through R, Python, or SQL
· 2+ years of experience working with Advana
· Experience designing and implementing scalable technologies such as streaming data transformation for joining, analyzing, and processing disparate data sets into features for predictive analytics.
· Experience developing API interfaces to facilitate data availability
· Experience leading major technical efforts and guiding development teams to an ideal solution
· Experience developing and documenting organizational standards for Data Storage, Data Transformation, and Metadata Management
· Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and direction
· Bachelor's degree in computer sciences, information systems, engineering or other related technical discipline
