General Foreman

The General Foreman / Project Manager (GF/PM) is the on-field general responsible for leading high-stakes, high-performance arboricultural operations while simultaneously developing the next generation of elite professionals. This role is not for someone who just "manages" from a distance-it is a hands-on, high-accountability leadership role.

To be clear, this is a blended billable skilled labor role combined with a leadership role. Don't expect to be sitting in a truck barking orders. Don't expect to be holding a clip board and a stop watch either. This role is the linchpin for jobsite speed, safety, and hitting or beating the bid man hour rate. Staying productive while managing the team is the name of the game.

This role requires dynamic execution. The General Foreman must be able to:

Work alongside the team, setting the pace and standard for excellence.
Coach, mentor, and hold workers accountable-all in real time.
Continuously shift focus between personal execution and developing others.
Ensure every job is completed efficiently, safely, and at the highest level of quality.
Uphold team discipline and eliminate complacency.

This role also demands strategic oversight. One full day per week is dedicated to:

Reviewing crew performance data and tracking progression.
Planning improved execution of field leadership responsibilities.
Meeting with management to analyze operations and implement refinements.
Building structured development programs for underperformers and high-potential talent.
