Industrial Refractory Application Technician

Express Employment Professionals is hiring an Industrial Refractory Application Technician on behalf of one of our clients.

Location: Glassport, PA | Schedule: Monday–Friday | Starting Pay: $20/hour

A day in the role

You arrive at the shop in Glassport, gear up with your respirator and PPE, and review the day’s work orders. Some days you’re on-site at a facility within a few hours’ drive; others you’re in the shop prepping equipment. You’ll mix and spray ceramic cement to line industrial pipes, check your gauges and hoses, and keep a sharp eye on application quality and safety procedures—especially when entering confined spaces. You end the day by maintaining tools, documenting work performed, and getting ready for the next assignment.

What you’ll do

• Prepare and apply spray ceramic cement lining to industrial piping systems
• Operate, monitor, and maintain lining application equipment
• Verify quality of application while following all safety standards and procedures
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment and tools after each shift
• Work in industrial environments, including confined spaces
• Wear required PPE such as respirators at all times when specified
• Follow company safety policies and procedures without exception
• Travel to job sites as needed, up to 3 hours from Glassport

What you bring

• Clean-shaven appearance to ensure a proper respirator seal
• Background in concrete pumping, nozzle operation, or heavy general labor preferred
• Comfort working in industrial and confined-space environments
• Capability to lift and carry heavy materials and equipment
• Strong safety mindset and attention to detail
• Clean background check
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
