Maintenance Technician

About the Job:
Advanced Concrete Systems, Inc., a manufacturer of precast basement wall systems, is seeking a maintenance technician. This individual will be responsible for performing repairs, doing preventative maintenance and trouble-shooting issues. A successful candidate requires good mechanical aptitude along with the ability and desire to learn.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Must be able to perform skilled mechanical work.
• Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on plant equipment.
• Must be able to adapt quickly to changes and communicate effectively with all parties to keep operating running efficiently.
• Be willing to work overtime as needed.
• Assist in keeping the shop, grounds and production facility organized and free of hazards.
• Examine tools and inspect equipment to detect unsafe conditions.
• Respond to breakdown calls and effectively repair equipment in a safe, professional, and timely manner.
• Record all relevant information on labor, equipment and parts.

Qualifications:

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a routine basis and, on occasion work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the outdoor elements.
• Must be able to feel comfortable with working on equipment with heights greater than 15 feet.
• Must have the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
• Must be able to pass a drug test.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have computer, math and tape measuring skills.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.

Additional Skills:

• Welding.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.

Physical Ability:

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time on concrete.
• Must be able to climb ladders.
• Frequent bending, kneeling, squatting and climbing.
• Frequent use of ladders.
• Frequent use of hands for simple grasping, pushing, pulling, manipulating tools/objects, and writing/typing.
• Frequent exposure to substances, including but not limited to hydraulic fluid, grease, oil and dirt.
