Assistant Superintendent (Union) – Telecom / Retail Construction
Philadelphia, PA (onsite daily)

We are seeking a hands-on Assistant Superintendent with a strong field construction background to support retail store buildouts and telecom infrastructure projects across the Philadelphia area. This role is ideal for a union trades professional who wants to step into a leadership role while staying active in the field.

This is not a desk-based PM role. We need someone who can run point onsite, manage crews, and keep fast-moving projects on track.

Responsibilities

Support daily field operations on retail construction projects including buildouts, renovations, and infrastructure upgrades
Coordinate and oversee union crews, subcontractors, and site activity in active retail environments
Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within scope
Assist with scheduling, site logistics, and material coordination for tight timelines
Conduct site walks, track progress, and communicate updates to project management
Maintain OSHA compliance and enforce job site safety standards
Troubleshoot field issues and keep projects moving in fast-paced environments

Qualifications

Union construction background required (IBEW or similar preferred)
3+ years of field experience in construction, telecom, or commercial interiors
Experience with low voltage, structured cabling, or retail buildouts is a strong plus
Proven ability to manage crews and coordinate multiple trades onsite
Strong understanding of construction sequencing, safety, and scheduling
OSHA 10 or 30 preferred
