Job Title: Utility Cook (BOH Support / Prep Support) -- Part-Time

Job Summary:

Heberle & Chiaramonte Hospitality Group (HCHG) is hiring a Utility Cook for an upcoming relaunch of a downtown Erie restaurant & bar concept. This is a flexible BOH support role that helps keep the kitchen moving---supporting prep, stocking, station resets, cleaning/sanitation, and dish as needed. Ideal for someone who wants to learn multiple areas of the kitchen. No experience required; we will train.

Pay: $10.00--$15.00/hour (based on experience and responsibilities)

Schedule / Hours:

Part-time; evenings, weekends, and select late nights required. Target average 20--25 hours/week (based on business needs).

Work Location:

Downtown Erie (worksite address provided during screening). Interviews by appointment only.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Support BOH with prep tasks as trained (portioning, peeling/chopping, batching, labeling/dating, simple prep)

• Stock and stage products for service (line restocks, backup prep, par levels, cooler organization)

• Assist with station resets during service (restock, wipe-downs, trash runs, quick clean-ups)

• Maintain sanitation and organization in BOH areas (floors, surfaces, trash/recycling, storage areas)

• Support dishwashing and ware handling as needed to keep service running (not the sole focus of the role)

• Follow recipes/specs, food safety, and cleaning procedures; complete opening/closing checklists

Qualifications

• Experience welcome, not required (entry-level encouraged to apply)

• Strong sense of urgency, coachability, and teamwork

• Ability to follow directions and maintain clean, organized work habits

• Food safety mindset; ServSafe is a plus (not required)

Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation)

• Stand for extended periods; work around heat, wet floors, and sharp tools

• Lift up to approximately 50 lbs

Start Date / Hiring Timeline

Training begins by the last week of February ; applicants who can start by Feb 24--28 are strongly preferred.
