Staff Accountant I-II
Benshaw is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support the daily accounting operations of the organization. This role is responsible for general ledger accounting, financial reporting, account reconciliations, month-end close activities, and assisting with budgeting and audits. The ideal candidate enjoys analyzing financial data, improving processes, and working collaboratively across departments.
Essential Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Complete monthly bank, balance sheet, and account reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules.
- Analyze financial data and investigate account variances.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Support external audits by preparing requested documentation.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
- Assist with sales tax filings and other regulatory reporting.
- Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable as needed.
- Perform additional accounting and administrative duties, along with special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
- 2 - 4 years of accounting experience.
- Manufacturing accounting experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of GAAP.
- ERP experience required (IFS preferred).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
