API Developer

Kforce has an immediate need for an API Developer for a 6-9 month, contract to hire position (onsite full time) in Pittsburgh, PA. Visa Sponsorship is not available for this position Summary: We are looking for a seasoned Java Developer with a passion for building robust scalable APIs. This role will play a key role in shaping the future of the platform that we are building for the clients. As a Senior API Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high performance APIs that power to the system. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements come on architect solutions, and ensure scalability come on reliability, and security of the APIs. You will have the opportunity to mentor junior developers, lead technical discussions, and drive the adoption of best practices and standards. Duties:

• Translates detailed requirements into functional system designs
• Review Design Documents and provide feedback on approach and estimates
• Creates technical designs for new systems, and/or modifications to existing systems
• Design, maintain and implementation of API, microservices and backend components
• Work with API developers across the team to build new features at large scale
• Improve API standards and services
• Development and unit testing of Java RESTful services that integrates with external client systems
• Research and recommend functional libraries to expedite development
• Work closely with internal and external design, business, and technical counterparts
• Bachelor's degree
• 8+ years of overall experience Java/J2EE development with REST API, Spring Boot, Angular, XML, JSON, Swagger; Hands-on troubleshooting and deployment experience
• 8+ years of RESTful or SOAP web services experience
• 5+ years Angular, CSS, JavaScript, HTML experience
• 5+ years of GitHub, Jenkins and CI/CD server experience
• Hands-on experience working with cutting edge technologies such as Spring Boot, Microservices
• Ability to prioritize work and meet deadline and also establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, project team members, supervisors, and employees from other departments
• Working knowledge and hands on experience in DEVOPs tools like Jenkins, uDeploy and GIT
• Knowledge on APIGEE
• Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work closely with diverse personality types and understand technical issues
• Experience writing unit tests for JavaScript code
• Experience using Agile methodologies for developing application
