Direct Support Professional

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for assisting individuals with diverse needs, including developmental, emotional, and mental disabilities, as well as other health conditions. As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide essential care, support daily living activities, and promote independence while ensuring safety and well-being in a home environment.

Areas we service : Reading, Lancaster, Montco--Pottstown in this case.

Looking to fill a role in Pottstown, PA Hours.

Must have the following availability:

Wed through Saturday 3p-8p, Sundays 10a-8p

Duties

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs),.
• Monitor and/or observe behavioral or health changes to report promptly to healthcare professionals.
• Monitor medication while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality.
• Prep or prepare nutritious meals and/or assist with meal planning and cooking.
• Promptly and help maintain a clean and safe environment by assisting the client in performing routine cleaning tasks in accordance with health standards.
• Support clients during community outings or social activities to foster engagement and social skills.
• Document care activities accurately in compliance with agency policies and state regulations.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of first aid, CPR certification, and basic patient observation techniques.
• Familiarity with medication administration, care plan development, and assisting with ADLs.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, dementia (including Alzheimer's and memory care), or hospice care is preferred.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle the physical demands of caregiving tasks.
• Strong communication skills coupled with patience, empathy, and respect for diverse populations.
• Valid driver's licenses and reliable transportation
