Role Summary:
As a Wholesale Delivery Truck Driver (CDL B) you will safely operate a box truck to pick up and deliver donated food from wholesalers and other food businesses to our community partners. This role includes loading/unloading product, following food safety protocols, completing required driving and delivery documentation, and using our tools to weigh, categorize, and record donations. You will be a consistent, professional presence for both donors and partner sites.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate a box truck safely and professionally while maintaining compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.
- Complete daily pre-trip/post-trip inspections and promptly report any vehicle, safety, or maintenance concerns.
- Arrive at pickup locations on time, following routes assigned by Sharing Excess coordinators.
- Load, secure, and transport food donations safely (including use of dollies/hand trucks and other basic moving equipment as needed).
- Unload product at partner organizations and coordinate drop-off with the on-site point of contact.
- Weigh, categorize, and record each donation using provided scales and our app.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the truck and storage areas.
- Use sound judgment to identify and escalate food quality/safety concerns.
Requirments
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Valid CDL Class B required.
- Ability to meet all applicable DOT/DMV requirements for operating a CDL vehicle.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Access to a smartphone.
- Good vision, hearing, and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal communication.
- Excellent customer service.
- Time management skills and reliable attendance.
- Ability to follow rules regarding food safety and preservation.
- Interest in non-profit/social justice work is strongly preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay: $20.00–$24.50/hour (DOE)
- Paid Time Off (PTO)

Work Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm
- Occasional flexibility required for early mornings or later evenings as needed.
