Locum Neonatal Nurse Practitioner

Palm Health Resources is hiring several experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners for a busy, high acuity Level IV NICU in Eastern Pennsylvania!

12 month Contract with extension opportunity!

The position will not only work in the high acuity NICU, but must be able to participate and do ground and air (helicopter) transport. Will Consider candidates without a PA license, but strongly prefer a PA license! PA licensure does take 3-4 months to obtain.

We are a level IV high acuity NICU. During the day there are two teams that consist of an attending MD, 2-medical fellows, 2-APP’s and 1-2 residents. Day shift Monday through Fridays we try to run with 6 APP’s. At nights and on weekends there is an attending MD and 2 mid-level providers (which could be any combination using fellows and APP’s). During the day on the weekend we have a third APP on from 7-5pm and an extra set of hands.Â

Here are our shifts:

Monday through Friday the APP’s work 7a-5p or 4p-8a

Saturday and Sundays the APP’s work 7a-7p or 7p-7a

They can work a 24 hour shift if they want but with our 16 and 24 hour shifts they must have 1 full day off before returning to clinical duty, this is part of our provider fatigue policy.

The APP’s must be able to:

• Attends High-Risk Deliveries, Vent Management, Resuscitation, Stabilization, Cooling, rounding, admits and discharges
• Procedures: PICC/UVC/UAC Lines, Chest Tubes, Lumbar Punctures, Intubations
• Be able to go out on either ground or air (helicopter) transport. On transport there is a Life Lion paramedic, Life Lion RN, respiratory therapy, and an APP that make up the transport team (If the patient is stable on room air, respiratory doesn't go along). We require the locums to take an online training class and once completed an in person training session at Life Lion. Every APP that goes out on transport must complete this training.Â
