NOVA (Network of Victim Assistance) is a comprehensive victim services organization in Bucks County. With a 50+ year history, NOVA has expanded to include a continuum of prevention and direct services to prevent and address the needs of victims of sexual abuse and other serious crimes. POSITION SUMMARY
NOVA’s counseling program focuses on all victims of sexual assault and other serious crimes. NOVA is looking to have this individual become certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive- Behavioral Therapy
(TFCBT) while managing the administrative work, conducting weekly therapy sessions, and attending supervision and consultation sessions. This position would require participating in individual and group supervision and carrying a full caseload of clients, including their significant others as needed. It will also include outreach and training for professionals and schools in the community on an as-needed basis on NOVA services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Will provide Trauma Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT) while managing administrative work, conducting weekly therapy sessions, and attending supervision and consultation meetings.
  • Outreach and training for volunteers, professionals, and schools in the community on NOVA services or other counseling services as needed.
  • Initiates and maintains relationships within the greater community and collaborates with other organizations serving victims of crime and abuse to promote victims’ access to NOVA services.
  • Refers clients to other NOVA programs or other agencies as appropriate and serves as a liaison for the client if requested.
  • Conducts client intakes and assessments to provide appropriate counseling services as needed.
  • Provides high-quality and effective counseling services to clients 20-25 hours per week in either the community, school, via telehealth, and/or office as assigned.
  • Provides case management services for clients.
  • Maintains all client records, including updates and closings.
  • Provides clinical consultation to the Bucks County Children’s Advocacy Center multidisciplinary team members and attends case reviews as needed.
  • Provides on-call coverage as assigned, including hotline, text line, chat line, and emergency room accompaniment as required.
  • Provides support to other counselors and/or interns as directed.

STAFF DEVELOPMENT

  • Successful completion of the Sexual Assault Counselor Training (SAC), annual training requirements, and continuing education requirements as applicable
  • Participates in job-related professional development activities
  • Annual attendance of NOVA’s Staff Retreat (1 day)
  • Attend and actively participate in a staff or agency committee
  • Meets regularly with the Senior Clinical Counselor for support, direction, supervision, and feedback

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

  • Clinical Counselor I – master’s degree and licensure or soon to be licensed (within one year) in social work, counseling, psychology, or another relevant field.
  • Clinical Counselor II – master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or another relevant field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working clinically with children, adults, and families.
  • Must be able to work 2 evenings per week and provide on-call coverage for the Chat/Text/Phone Helpline as assigned during business hours. Must be comfortable working independently on-site.
  • Bilingual/multilingual preferred.
  • Must be comfortable with public speaking.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Office 365
  • Experience working with client data systems preferred.
  • NOVA may require employees to participate in drug testing

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

  • TFCBT certification is required within one-year post-hire.
  • Must meet all required background checks (criminal, FBI, child abuse) at hire and every five years after that
  • Must provide proof of a valid driver’s license
  • Must provide proof of valid car insurance with a minimum liability coverage of $100,000/$300,000 upon hire and annually after that
