Position Summary
The Staff Accountant will be a key player in ensuring the financial health and accuracy of our operations. Responsibilities include general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, financial reporting, and cost analysis. The ideal candidate will bring a strong accounting background, sharp attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a dynamic manufacturing environment. You will contribute directly to the success of our financial operations as a crucial member of our finance team.
Primary Functions & Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger for accurate financial records.
- Record financial transactions in compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
- Generate and analyze financial reports to support strategic decision-making.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Conduct cost analysis to optimize manufacturing expenditures and monitor production costs alongside operational teams.
- Process accounts payable transactions and ensure timely vendor payments.
- Manage accounts receivable activities, including invoicing and collections.
- Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts in a timely manner.
- Assist in the preparation for internal and external audits, collaborating with auditors and providing necessary documentation.
- Stay updated on accounting regulations and ensure strict adherence to financial reporting standards.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of internal controls.
- Assist in Strahman Group accounting functions when needed, along with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Experience: 3 or more years of professional accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills for complex financial analysis and reporting.
- Systems: Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems commonly used in manufacturing. Experience using Syteline and/or QuickBooks is a major plus.
