Warehouse Supervisor - Nightshift
DESCRIPTION OF EMPLOYER: Founded in 1901, Feeser’s, Inc. is a family owned and operated full-line foodservice distributor located in Harrisburg, PA servicing the Mid-Atlantic region. Feeser’s provides an expansive offering of dry, refrigerated, and frozen products to a diverse customer base comprised of restaurants, healthcare facilities, educational facilities, and other institutions.
SUMMARY: Supervisors oversee warehouse personnel and coordinate daily warehouse activities by implementing quality, productivity, and production standards. The goal of a supervisor is to ensure that daily operations meet or exceed daily expectations to increase the company’s productivity and minimize lost sales. Plan, participate, and supervise in the activities and operations of the warehouse and evaluate assigned team members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Communicate position expectations and train employees.
Define team members assignments and allocate workloads to achieve the goals for the day/week/month/year as efficiently and effectively as possible.
Contribute to and implement continuous improvement efforts and new methods, processes, and procedures brought forth from the company.
Consult and organize activities with other management members and departments, working as part of a team and towards common goals.
Implement and enforce the company’s Health and Safety policies, ensuring safe working conditions and practices within the warehouse.
Ensure site sanitation is routinely executed to meet food grade standards and working to be always audit ready.
Responsible for ensuring that the quality of the product and service is of the highest possible standards for the customer.
Ensure quality procedures and that team and individual production targets are strictly adhered to.
Measure and address the effectiveness of employee performance to ensure the accuracy of shipments.
Work assigned times and dates outside of normal schedule on an as needed basis to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays in order to support business needs. This includes regular on-call time on a rotating basis with other supervisors to meet customer demands.
Responsible for ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety (OSHA) guidelines within the workplace. Role modeling in promoting a safe working environment by enforcing preventative measures. Supervisor’s goal is to maintain a safe workplace according to legal standards and foster a culture of attention to safety.
Other duties as assigned by management.

Ability to deescalate and diffuse high tension situations and handle difficult conversations with employees while always maintaining poise and professionalism.
High degree of emotional intelligence and ability to maintain personal composure in challenging situations.

Ability to maintain strong interdepartmental and intradepartmental relationships with excellent communication skills.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
2-3 years of supervisory experience, with direct reports preferred.
A minimum of 1 year experience in Warehouse Management Systems and Microsoft Office proficiency.
Proven knowledge of conventional management and warehousing fundamentals.
Experienced in positive employee relations.
Knowledge in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing or other continuous improvement fundamentals preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift equipment up to 100 pounds.
Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
Must possess visual acuity, i.e., close, distance, and color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust.
Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
Operating machinery and/or power tools / Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
Noisy environments / Hazardous conditions
Must possess visual acuity, i.e., close, distance, and color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust.
Ability to work in temperature varied environments for extended periods of time, ranging from -10 degrees F to 90 degrees F, and handle the demands of the departments.
