Drone Assembler

This role supports the production of small drone engines in a structured manufacturing environment, with a focus on hands-on mechanical and light electrical assembly of brushless DC motors. You will work on an assembly line performing precision assembly, basic electrical work, and in-process quality checks to ensure reliable, high-performance motors. Multiple technician positions are available, including a Lead Technician who will handle complex soldering tasks and perform quality checks during final assembly.

Responsibilities

• Assemble brushless DC motor components, including stators, rotors, housings, shafts, and bearings with a high level of accuracy.
• Follow detailed work instructions, torque specifications, and standard operating procedures to ensure consistent and reliable builds.
• Perform light electrical assembly, including wire soldering and connector installation, in accordance with established standards.
• Operate basic assembly equipment such as presses, fixtures, and balancing equipment once trained.
• Conduct in-process inspections and basic quality checks to verify that assemblies meet quality and performance requirements.
• Accurately record production and traceability data to support quality control and compliance requirements.
• Identify defects or process deviations and promptly escalate issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe workstation by following 5S standards.
• Comply with all safety procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements on the production floor.
• Collaborate with team members and leads to meet production targets and support continuous improvement initiatives.

• 1–3 years of electrical assembly or machine operation experience; the Lead Technician role requires 5+ years of related experience.
• At least 1 year of soldering experience for Machine Operator-level roles; the Lead Technician role requires 5+ years of soldering experience.
• Manufacturing or mechanical assembly experience in a production or assembly-line environment.
• Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Solid understanding of mechanical assembly and basic electrical components.
• Ability to interpret or work from blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Proficiency using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks requiring manual dexterity while maintaining quality.
• Basic troubleshooting skills related to mechanical and electrical assembly issues.

• Electric motor or electromechanical assembly experience, particularly with brushless DC motors, is preferred.
• Experience working in ISO-certified or other quality-controlled manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with assembly line production, sub-assembly processes, and packaging of finished products.
• Experience with inspection techniques and quality checks in a production setting.
• Comfort using measurement tools such as tape measures and other basic gauges.
• Ability to accurately follow work instructions and maintain production and traceability documentation.
• General labor experience in a warehouse, production, or mechanical environment.
• Experience with electronic assembly and wiring is a plus.

Work Environment

You will work on a fast-paced production floor within a conditioned warehouse environment, primarily on an assembly line dedicated to small drone engine and motor production. The role involves repetitive, detail-oriented tasks that require strong manual dexterity and consistent focus. You will regularly use hand tools, power tools, presses, fixtures, balancing equipment, and measurement tools while following standardized work instructions. The facility operates with defined safety and quality procedures, including 5S workstation standards and in-process inspections. Personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses and gloves, is required and must be worn in designated areas.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Tobyhanna, PA.

The pay range for this position is $23.74 - $26.02/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Tobyhanna,PA.
