Dental Hygienist (RDH) – Johnstown, NY

Dunning Family Dental is a trusted, patient-centered practice located in the heart of Johnstown, NY. Recently relocated to our new home at 310 Jansen Avenue, we proudly serve individuals and families throughout the community with comprehensive dental care. With an average 5-star patient rating, our team is known for professionalism, compassion, and clinical excellence. We are seeking a licensed, compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our growing team.

Schedule

• Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch)
• Friday: 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM (with break)
• Full-time

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform dental cleanings including prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing
• Conduct periodontal assessments and charting
• Take and interpret dental radiographs in compliance with regulations
• Administer preventive treatments such as fluoride and sealants
• Identify signs of oral disease and communicate findings to the dentist
• Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
• Reinforce treatment recommendations and provide post-treatment instructions
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control protocols
• Sterilize instruments and maintain operatory cleanliness
• Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient patient flow

Requirements

• Valid New York Dental Hygienist license
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented with strong clinical precision
• Compassionate, patient-focused approach
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred:

• Previous clinical experience
• Familiarity with Dentrix
• Experience with periodontal therapy and patient education programs
• Ability to administer local anesthesia (if permitted by NY law)

Pay & Compensation

• $45.00 to $50.00 per hour, depending on experience
