We are seeking a client-facing Marketing Operations and Events Manager to spearhead all events across Stradley Ronon’s market-leading Investment Management Department. The Manager will report to the Director of Marketing Communications and work collaboratively with IM department leadership and lawyers, as well as the broader marketing team, business development, practice manager and other key stakeholders to plan and execute all facets of both external and internal IM department events and conference sponsorships. Exhibiting a strong executive-level presence, the Manager should understand and anticipate client needs in order to deliver exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the creative direction and strategic planning and execution of external and internal IM department events, including virtual, hybrid, and in-person; overseeing all aspects of event logistics, including planning, setup, onsite management, execution, follow-up reporting and debriefing.
Source, negotiate with, and manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and event venues.
Develop and manage event budgets, focusing on efficient allocation of resources while maintaining high-quality and memorable experiences.
Develop invitations and distribution lists, including running relationship reports and assisting with CRM maintenance; track and report on event responses while designing and executing creative approaches to ensure quality attendance.
Coordinate with BD and marketing on content creation, assisting with delivering the marketing team’s promotional campaign, marketing materials and other promotional items for the IM department’s events, sponsorships, and memberships, ensuring consistency with the firm’s brand and messaging.
Contribute to post-event ROI analysis and involvement with the marketing team’s post-mortem metric reports.
Serve as the firm’s POC and maintain a strong relationship with industry organizations as it relates to the IM department’s industry conference participation – ICI, IDC, MFDF, etc., including conducting competitive intelligence on industry participants’ involvement and garnering sponsorship opportunities with vendors.
Plan Trustee dinners for IM client board meetings.
Manage the IM department events calendar.
Coordinate the purchase and distribution of promotional items and client gifts.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in business, communication, marketing, or related field preferred;
7+ years’ relevant work experience in a legal or professional services setting, including experience with being client-facing;
Experience in planning multiple high-level, logistically complicated events simultaneously;
Experience with vendor contract negotiations;
Excellent verbal/written/interpersonal communication skills;
Experience running virtual, in-person and hybrid events;
Ability to work extended and/or weekend hours, as required;
Ability to travel, as required;
Ability to work closely and collaboratively with others and develop professional relationships with department members, attorneys, and vendors;
Self-motivator with high energy level and enthusiasm towards activities and goals;
Ability to work well under pressure within a deadline-driven environment;
Experience with CRM/database software (InterAction) and marketing automation solution (Concep) preferred;
Excellent organizational skills & meticulous while multi-tasking.
